İLGİNÇ GÖKYÜZÜ RESİMLERİ-Nature’s Wrath: Humans Be Nice!

2010-12-15 22:03:00

The human kind is the supreme ruler of the planet Earth. Top of the food chain, the most intelligent and powerful being. We are so full of ourselves that we never stop to think about the consequence. Why should we? We are so mighty that nothing can hurt us!   On the other hand these pictures tell a completely different story. Just some examples of nature’s display of its might. Indeed there is a force that is more powerful than anything we can ever build. Who knows, maybe these are just the warning signs of a planet that has had enough of us and is about to banish us from the face of Earth. Anyway, these are fun to watch.    ... Devamı

Beautiful Underwater Caves in Bahamas Blue Holes

2010-12-07 21:01:00

The Bahamas – known for its tropical islands, miles upon miles of sandy beaches, clear warm water and coral reefs. But it hides a little secret called the “blue holes” that are located under the water and look like beautiful blue vertical caves. Bahamas has quite a few blue holes that make up a whole underwater cave system. From the sky they look scary like dark blue holes in the ocean, and they are dangerous, so only professional divers can experience it. Still there is not much to see because there is almost no sea life there because of the poor water circulation. This also causes a large number of bacteria developing.   The deepest blue hole is located in Bahamas and is 202 meters deep (663 ft.) and is called Dean’s Blue Hole. Looking at the pictures the blue holes look like a fantasy underworld where the colors are beautifully mixed up. Too bad only professionals can explore it and enjoy the beauty of the blue underwater caves. Other beauties of the underwater that everyone can visit are the fabulous Red Sea Star restaurant in Israel, located 6 meters under the sea.   Via National Geographic.   ... Devamı

White Desert, Beautiful and Still Undiscovered Nature Reserve in

2010-12-07 20:58:00

Egypt is really wonderful touristic destination with many attraction for tourists. We all know about Egypt’s main features like pyramids and other historical monuments. But Egypt is not only rich with historical monuments it also has many valuable natural features which deserve to be placed in touristic guides. One of such places is the White Desert which is also known by its original name Sahara el Beyda. It is placed near the smallest oasis in Egypt, Farfara. As most of us know, sand in deserts is yellow, however, the sand in White Desert is surprisingly white and that is how this place got its name. At the nights, this place looks like some snowy landscape. This place has became pretty popular in several last years. The fact that it is not far away from Black Desert and Crystal Mountain has made significant contribution to its popularity amongst tourists.   It is known as a place where unusual chalk rocks can be found. Such rocks are shaped by low-level wind erosion. One of the most famous rocks which can be found here is so-called Mushroom Rock which incredibly reminds to giant mushroom. Despite the fact this place is protected nature reserve, visitors from different parts of the world are not so careful while staying there and they often make huge damage to those rocks.   ...   Norias of Hama – Huge Waterwheels in Syria These amazingly beautiful water wheels are several centuries old. The name is Norias of Hama, and it is from Arabic which explains why they are located in Syria. They have been used to bring water into aqueducts that take the water further to all the fields. Back in the days there were 30 of these wheels, now there are just 17 left, and they are of course no longer in use. The wheels are pretty huge; they can come up to 20 meters in diameter, which would be about 70 ft. It grabs a lot of water and brings it to the top where a channel is taking it further to wherever it is supposed to go. So it was simply a lot of math involved when they built the wheels, because it was very important that the water was shared to all of the citizens. The largest of the wheels is the al-Mohamadiyya that had the job to give the mosque enough water. Today they all look like they’re part of a fairytale, but in a powerful way.   ... Devamı

Gothic architecture is a style of architecture that flourished during the high and late medieval period. It evolved from Romanesque architecture and was succeeded by Renaissance architecture. Originating in 12th century France and lasting into the 16th century, Gothic architecture was known during the period as “the French Style” (Opus Francigenum), with the term Gothic first appearing during the latter part of the Renaissance. Its characteristic features include the pointed arch, the ribbed vault and the flying buttress. Gothic architecture is most familiar as the architecture of many of the great cathedrals, abbeys and parish churches of Europe. It is in the great churches and cathedrals and in a number of civic buildings that the Gothic style was expressed most powerfully, its characteristics lending themselves to appeal to the emotions. A great number of ecclesiastical buildings remain from this period, of which even the smallest are often structures of architectural distinction while many of the larger churches are considered priceless works of art and are listed with UNESCO as World Heritage Sites. For this reason a study of Gothic architecture is largely a study of cathedrals and churches. A series of Gothic revivals began in mid-18th century England, spread through 19th-century Europe and continued, largely for ecclesiastical and university structures, into the 20th century. ... Garip Ajanta Magaralari

The Ajanta Caves in Maharashtra, India are 31 rock-cut cave monuments which date from the 2nd century BC. The caves include paintings and sculptures considered to be masterpieces of both Buddhist religious art (which depict the Jataka tales) as well as frescos which are reminiscent of the Sigiriya paintings in Sri Lanka. The caves were built in two phases starting around 200 BC, with the second group of caves built around 600 AD. Since 1983, the Ajanta Caves have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The caves are located in the Indian state of Maharashtra, just outside the village of Ajinṭhâ in Aurangabad district.   Beautiful Ajanta Caves Ajanta Caves in Maharashtra Aurangabad - Ajanta Caves Waterfall at Ajanta Caves The first sanctuaries (known as chaytia-grihas) were built during the Satavahana dynasty in the canyons of the Waghora River. Murals preserved from this time belong to the oldest monuments of painted art in India. Scholars disagree about the date of the Ajanta Caves’ second period. For a time it was thought that the work was done over a long period from the fourth to the seventh century AD, but recently long-time researcher Walter M. Spink declared that most of the work took place over short time period, from 460 to 480 AD, during the reign of Emperor Harishena of the Vakataka dynasty. Some 20 cave temples were simultaneously created, for the most part viharas: monasteries with a sanctuary in the structure’s rear centre. Each of cave temples seem to be patronised by influential authority, numerous best available artists have been involved in the work with fruitful rivalry between the neighbouring construction sites. According to Spink, the Ajanta Caves appear to have been abandoned shortly after the fall of Harishena circa 480 AD. Since then, these temples have been abandoned and gradually forgotten. During the intervening centuries, the ...

Nitekim tasavvufun babası sayılan Muhiddin-i Arabi  İlahi Aşk adlı kitabında bu konuda şunları yazar: “ Sevginin sebebi güzelliktir.Güzellik ise Allah’a aittir.
